Road Bridge Opening Fancy Dress Parade 1966
Mrs Betty Dow (nee Rankine) dressed as a tinker woman participating in the fancy dress parade and gala day held on Saturday 20 August 1966 to celebrate the opening of the Tay Road Bridge on Thursday 18 August. Mrs Dow was dressed in exactly the same costume as her mother, Mrs Betty Rankine, had worn for the fancy dress parade celebrating the coronation of George VI almost 30 years earlier in 1937.
