Tay Road Bridge Construction: Dundee Bridge Access Roads
A view from the observation platform above the toll booths at the north end of the bridge. The photograph was taken at the end of July 1966 with just 3 weeks until the opening ceremony. The road layout is quite different from that of today. The road going straight ahead curves off to the west before going round and under itself to head east. Access to the bridge from the west followed that curved road up and on to the bridge. Clearly there would be a busy three weeks of tidying up ahead.
