MacKenzie, Lt. Frederick Thomas, Royal Horse and Royal Field Artillery, 169th Lowland Brigade
One of two brothers both of whom were killed in WW1, his family home was at Riverview, 35 Naughton Road, Wormit. Frederick had attended Morgan Academy, followed by Oxford University. He had won numerous medals and awards both at school and university. He had been in the OTC at Oxford University and had subsequently been a lecturer in Classics at St Andrews University. He was commissioned in December 1915.
He was reported missing, then presumed killed at Arras, France, on 23rd March 1918, aged 29. His name is recorded on the Arras Memorial to the Missing.
