1-7 Union Street

The original Maryton Inn on Tay Street

This row of four houses on Union Street dates from the 1820s. They were the stables for the Maryton Inn, now 12 Tay Street. There were three stables here, and no doubt the upper windows provided access to the hay lofts. The Maryton Inn’s existence was short-lived, and in the 1830s these stables were converted to four houses.
