West Station House, 14 Shepherd's Road

West Newport Station

Newport West Station opened in 1879 when the Newport Railway opened between the Tay Rail Bridge and Tayport. This house was built around 1905 to house station employees. The house is of an unusual design with its gambrel styled roof. The last employees lived here in 1962 and the house was sold by British Rail after 1965.

The Newport Railway and the West Station closed in May 1969.
