A newspaper cutting describing a meeting in 1945 at which it was agreed to restart Newport Football Club after it had lapsed during the war. Training would take place at Newport School on Thursday evenings with Mr Hugh Muir (head teacher) as instructor.
As part of the celebrations to mark the opening of the Tay Road Bridge on 18th August 1966, a celebration football match was held. The participants were the Boys Brigade versus the Old Crocks.
