Tayfield Home Farmyard A photograph of Tayfield Home Farmyard 20 July 1986 Den Cottages, Tayfield The Den Cottages were in an idyllic setting on the edge of the wooded area towards Kirk Road, and were the subject of many picture postcards. They were noted for their attractive and productive gardens. They are sadly now derelict. Forestry Work on Tayfield Estate 1950s Serious forestry work being carried out to a beech tree on the estate, probably in late 1950s. Tayfield Bee House This is a Victorian bee house, beautifully restored in 2020. It is one of only five known in Scotland, and probably the only wooden one. It has now been listed as a building of historical importance. It is believed to have been brought to Tayfield by boat around 1850. The actual hives were on shelves ...
