Prior to the chemist it housed the Dundee Savings Bank (later TSB). In 2020 the building was completely invisible, hidden under a dense mass of ivy and other vegetation.

After World War II Sandy helped maintain close links with the Norwegian servicemen who had been based at Woodhaven.
