To celebrate their 10th anniversary as a youth club, the Rio held a week of activities. They included the women's football match at Waterstone Crook.

A newspaper cutting describing a meeting in 1945 at which it was agreed to restart Newport Football Club after it had lapsed during the war. Training would take place at Newport School on Thursday evenings with Mr Hugh Muir (head teacher) as instructor.
