Newport Golf Club Medals
Newport Golf Club was laid out on land at Inverdovat Farm in the 1880s. The club played for three medals: the Newport medal, provided by the club; the Walker medal, presented by honorary captain Harry Walker (of Westwood, now St Serf’s home) in 1888; and the Wizard medal, presented by the editor of the Wizard of the North in 1889. The club folded and joined with Scotscraig (Tayport) in 1891, and since then the medals have been competed for at Scotscraig.
