Annandale Bridge Club
Mairi Shiels
Annandale Bridge Club was formed in 1949 at Annandale on St Fort Road, Woodhaven, the home of the Tanner family. It quickly outgrew the hall and lounge there, and they moved to the Blyth Hall in 1950. Apart from 1973 – 1974 when the hall was being altered and extended, the bridge club has met weekly in the small Blyth Hall since 1950. In 2020 Covid 19 broke the pattern of weekly meetings for only the second time in 70 years. Our photograph shows members enjoying their 70th birthday celebrations in 2019.
